Louis Dorfman Jr. the Chief Executive
Officer and President of American Resource Partners LLC. is the third
generation in his family to be involved in the oil and gas exploration
industry. He was President of Dorfman
Production Company, an 88-year old family-owned business for 15 years. This was Mr. Dorfman’s first high-profile
leadership position in this industry for which he was responsible for directing
significant oil and gas exploration and production operations, to include drilling
in excess of 250 wells and operating approximately 380 wells. Throughout his career, he has been involved
in acquisitions and divestitures of more than $600 million of oil and gas
properties. A critical component of
success in exploration and production activities may also be measured by the
acquisitions that-while apparently possessing the potential to be valuable-are
avoided. At Dorfman Production Company,
the company grew over 700% through his successful investment strategies. After leaving the family business, Louis Dorfman
Jr. became executive vice president of ASI, a public company based in San
Antonio, Texas (NASDAQ Symbol ANLT). At
ASI, Mr. Dorfman was responsible for acquisition of non-operated oil and gas
working interests and other important operational tasks involving investor and
financial partner relationships critical to a public company’s existence. ASI benefited tremendously from Mr. Dorfman'
industry expertise as reflected by the numerous successful drilling prospects
and projects undertaken by ASI for which he was the catalyst. Two acquisitions became field discoveries
which, in and of itself, constitutes a noteworthy career highlight. Lastly, this enviable and comprehensive
record of significant industry achievements was further enhanced by his
appointment in 1999 to the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission by (then)
Texas Governor George Bush and where he was further selected to participate in
the Commission’s Energy Resources Research and Technology Committee. This prestigious position signifies not only
the technical skills and abilities of a professional who has successfully met
the challenge of conducting high-level energy exploration and development
activities, but provides additional support for concluding the partnership has
a solid and recognized professional on its team. He enjoys an active outdoor
life and is involved in many local charities.
Louis sits on the board of Children’s Health Hospital and various
philanthropic initiatives as well as; the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at
Oaklawn United Methodist Church.
